Umit Gulsen’s film career began in 2001, in film school in Istanbul. There, he analyzed many classic films and directors finding inspiration in the challenges and potential of cinema as an art form. Umit wore many assistant director hats in his young career, working TV series, short films and documentaries. He supported Majid Majidi, the first Iranian Oscar-nominated director, on his film BLUE. Umit is based out of Washington DC and NYC and holds a MA in Film and Video from the American University.
